Friendship Walks is a 1.5 mile fun walk around the National Mall focused on ending homelessness in the Washington D.C. region.

All proceeds benefit Friendship Place, a nonprofit organization that offers the most effective model for addressing homelessness. Friendship Place's innovative programs empower participants to rebuild their lives, find homes, get jobs, and reconnect with friends, family, and the community, permanently!

Friendship Walks has raised more than half a million dollars to help people in our area leave homelessness for housing. But, there's still work to be done, and we need your help to meet the urgent need in our area. Your donations and fundraising dollars will allow us to help individuals and families—many who are sleeping in cars, shelters, or on the street today—find stable housing.

Registering for the walk is easy, and you can either walk with us or create your own team by inviting friends, family, and coworkers. To register as an individual, click here. To start a team, click here

About Friendship Place

Friendship Place is a leader in the fight to end homelessness in the Washington DC region. Last year, through the support of Friendship Walks, Friendship Place prevented or ended homelessness for 1,640 people in our area, including 355 veterans, and 572 children in the families served. In total, Friendship Place made a difference in the lives of more than 3,700 people in 2018. We thank everyone who participated in previous Friendship Walks. You make our impact possible. We also thank everyone who will be participating in the 2019 Friendship Walks. Your gift and fundraising effort will help change the trajectory of many lives.
