National Cathedral Team
Welcome to the team National Cathedral homepage for Friendship Walks 2019. The team captain for The Cathedral is Chris Cannedy. Please feel free to contact me at e-mail address email@example.com with any questions about this year event.
Friendship Walks is a 1.5 mile fun walk around the National Mall, focused on ending homelessness in the Washington, DC region.
All proceeds from the Walk go to Friendship Place, a nonprofit organization that offers the most effective model for addressing homelessness, with innovative programs that empower individuals and families experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives, find homes, get jobs, and reconnect with friends, family, and the community, permanently.
Since 2013, Friendship Walks has raised close to $1 million dollars to help people in our area leave homelessness for housing. But, there is still work to be done. Your donations and fundraising dollars will allow Friendship Place to help individuals and families—many who are sleeping in cars, in shelters, or on the street today—find stable housing.
By supporting Friendship Walks, you are allowing Friendship Place to create a lasting impact in the thousands of lives they help each year. Together, we can ensure everyone in the DC region has a place to call home.
About Friendship Place
Friendship Place is the premier provider of housing services for people experiencing homelessness in the Washington DC region. Last year, through the support of Friendship Walks, Friendship Place prevented or ended homelessness for 1,640 people, including 355 veterans, and 572 children in the families served. In total, Friendship Place made a difference in the lives of more than 3,700 people in 2018, providing access to jobs, medical and psychiatric—care, food, and much, much more.
We thank everyone who participated in previous Friendship Walks. You make our impact possible. We also thank everyone who will be participating in the 2019 Friendship Walks. Your gift and fundraising effort will help change the trajectory of many lives.
