About Us
Friendship Place is the premier provider of housing services for people experiencing homelessness in the Washington DC region. We develop solutions to homelessness that have demonstrable results and a lasting impact. Our innovative, customized, person-focused programs empower participants to rebuild their lives, find homes, get jobs and reconnect with friends, family and the community, permanently.
Our Impact
Last year, through the support of Friendship Walks, Friendship Place prevented or ended homelessness for 1,640 people, including 355 veterans, and 572 children in the families served. In total, Friendship Place made a difference in the lives of more than 3,700 people in 2018. We thank everyone who participated in previous Friendship Walks. You make our impact possible. We also thank everyone who will be participating in the 2019 Friendship Walks. Your gift and fundraising effort will help change the trajectory of many lives.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to attain stable housing and to rebuild their lives. Our vision is a DC community and a nation in which every person has a place to call “home.”
Our goal is to end homelessness in Washington, DC, and to lead the way in modeling how this can be done in other parts of the country.
